I believe in setting high expectations for my students because they will strive to reach the goals that have been set. I place emphasis on the process of learning, which is far more effective than teaching tricks to get the correct answer. When students understand the steps that are necessary and how to perform them, they will be competent to perform the tasks on their own. I believe that my solid background in education has provided me with the skills necessary to tutor any student. I would like to tutor a variety of core subjects, including English, math, history, and science. In addition, I am willing to provide homework support and to help with standardized test preparation. I am a current student at the University of Connecticut, where I am completing the integrated program for a bachelor's and master's degree in Secondary Biology Education. My personal interests are genealogy and motorsports.
